The challenge
Invoices arrive as PDFs, scanned attachments, and inconsistent spreadsheets. Teams copy fields into an ERP, then lose time tracing missing details and exceptions. This concept explores how finance operations could move to a reviewable document pipeline.
The proposed system
A shared document inbox extracts structured fields, checks them against business rules, and routes uncertain records to the right reviewer. Every field links back to its source, while approved records flow into the finance system.
- Schema-based extraction with source references and confidence signals.
- A review queue for missing fields, duplicates, and validation failures.
- Role-based access, an audit trail, and idempotent ERP integration.
How we would validate it
Benchmark field accuracy on a representative labeled dataset. Measure review time, false approvals, and failed integrations before a controlled rollout. Track exceptions by document type so model changes are evaluated against the same baseline.
The intended outcome
The intended outcome is less manual entry and a traceable approval process. This is an illustrative project, so no measured client results are claimed.
